encounter

A family told story runs parallel with the national history and how will they be the same and different? Fragmented pieces of stories and timelines are how memory works in real life. None of the stories are told in chronological order, especially when you have never met the grandmother.

This is my encounter with a person's history and the history of modern China from 1943, to 1989. Through the narration, a personal voice is heard from the collective memory, objects are re-examined.
